The 2008 CAP Foundation Conference Travel Awards will provide stipends for pathology residents and fellows (clinical as well as research / post-doctoral) medical and graduate students to attend the 13th Annual Conference on Advancing Practice, Instruction and Innovation through Informatics at the Marriott City Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, October 19 – 23 2008. The application deadline for the 2008 conference is June 1, 2008.
APIII is an annual conference designed for physicians, researchers, residents and graduate students interested in how informatics and imaging is transforming pathology and oncology. Industry-related developers, engineers, and marketing representatives also comprise a significant portion of the attendees. Prior knowledge of informatics is not required and courses are offered for individuals new to this field. In addiction to the traditional focus on pathology informatics and imaging, a theme of this year's conference will be the similarity and possible integration of pathology and radiology informatics. See http://apiii.upmc.edu for the complete conference program.
The conference is jointly sponsored by the:
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences
University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Biomedical Informatics
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Information Services Division
Association for Pathology Informatics (API)
Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI)
Visit the APIII Web site for details on the conference: http://apiii.upmc.edu/
About the Award
