We invite your company to participate in the 12th annual Advancing Practice, Instruction and Innovation through Informatics conference (APIII 2007), September 9 – 12, 2007, at the Marriott City Center in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences, Department of Biomedical Informatics, UPMC Health System Information Services Division, the Association for Pathology Informatics (API) and Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACR)
The APIII educational conference provides a broad overview of biomedical informatics in pathology and oncology practice, education and research. As an attendee, you will forming pathology and oncology. You will gain knowledge of new technology available to meet the informatics needs of the future. This year’s conference will also highlight the evolution of digital pathology in the Armed Forces with speakers from various branches of the military sharing their experiences. APIII is an outstanding forum for networking with decision-makers. The conference draws a mix of national and international academic and practicing pathologists and oncologists, researchers in biomedical informatics, residents, fellows, and graduate students comprise a significant portion of the attendees. Computer support personnel and lab/practice managers Industry-related developers, engineers, and marketing representatives are also among those who attend the APIII conference.
APIII is committed to providing our exhibitors with a high profile at the conference. Exhibitors typically include producers of hospital and pathology information systems, imaging and microscopic products, computer hardware and peripherals, cutting-edge health care technology and software developers, wireless technology and Internet-based companies. APIII offers a variety of marketing and sponsorship opportunities. Please see additional information regarding these opportunities enclosed in this packet of information. The APIII 2007 exhibition fee is $3,500.
The exhibition fee entitles two representatives of the company to:
- A 10’x10’ booth, which includes a skirted exhibitor table (6 foot by 2-1/2 foot) and 2 chairs; to demonstrate products to attendees on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Breakfast, break, and lunch each day, Sunday evening pre-conference mixer; Monday evening social event and Tuesday evening Awards Dinner
- Admission to the conference plenary and breakout sessions
- A link to your company’s web site from the APIII 2001 web site
- Free Wireless Internet connection
We ask that you consider funding a College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation Informatics Award for $1,500. The travel scholarships are intended to defray costs of registration, travel, and living expenses for pathology residents, fellows (clinical as well as research / post-doctoral), medical students and graduate students to attend the conference in your company's name. A representative of your company will present a certificate to award recipients at the Awards Dinner on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Funding a CAP award is an excellent way to demonstrate your company's leadership in Informatics and your support of the future implementation of cutting-edge technologies.
