The Case for Web Reporting
The rise of the distributed medical center, managed care and the hospital Intranet means that timely pathology information needs to be available a large number of locations at the same time. Old distribution methods are not necessarily viable in this new environment.
Web reporting can be intrinsically multimedia. In conjunction with an imaging system, web reporting allows us to document our findings through images tied to reports. Pathology is largely about documentation and a multimedia report is simply a better, more complete, document.
