Intranets, private computer networks built on Internet technology, offer a powerful tool to compress time, shrink the disadvantages of distances, and increase employee knowledge of organizational operations, policies and products.

Specifically, demonstrating the utility of the intranet as a secured, centralized warehouse for quick access to organizational forms and policies.
