Automated cytology, which includes fluid-based automated preparation techniques and automated screening methods of Pap smears, has emerged as a rapidly growing area in cytology. Like every emerging field, there are lot of choices and options. Since there are no set standards and the technology has not matured yet, users have lot of confusions, problems and questions.

The Internet and the World Wide Web have emerged as a widely accessible medium for information interchange in every walk of life. In this website we have tried to answer some of the questions a pathologist, following this emerging technology, may have in his mind. In this Web site we have organized all relevant sites into different categories, including introduction to automated cytology, comparison of different systems, vendor websites and current bibliography. We also added a ‘Discussion Board’ where one can post specific questions, comments or news relevant to automated cytology.
