The Internet is growing at such an enormous pace that most people do not have time and energy to keep track of information flow. This prompted me in September, 1998 to start a Web site, Pathologynet, to share current information with others in pathology. At present, Pathologynet offers news headlines, a conference calendar, forum and links to any one interested in pathology.

News is searched almost everyday from a number of sources on the Internet. Any news related to pathogenesis or pathology practice is linked. Clicking on headlines will take you to the full story on external Web sites. People are encouraged to submit their news directly to Pathologynet. A forum is provided where guests are encouraged to discuss news items.

The conference calendar puts together pathology conferences and courses offered by a host of organizations. The information is compiled by a combination of searching, browsing Web sites and requests. The calendar is concise containing dates, titles, sponsors and locations; clicking on the title will take you directly to the conference information page. Conferences without a Web page may also be submitted with full information hosted on our site.

The Pathologynet database of links is growing fast. Links are not only added on requests but actively searched and added.

Future directions of Pathologynet will depend upon participation of guests. Projects include a database of industry products, a magazine, and efforts to make the site technologically more advanced for better interaction.
