Abstract Archives
1. Abstracts must be submitted via the electronic submission form.
Abstract Deadline
The deadline for abstract submissions is 11:59 pm US Eastern Time, Monday, May 21, 2007. Abstracts submitted in any form after the deadline will not be considered by the Program Committee.
Note: Submitting an abstract for presentation at the APIII 2007 Annual Conference does not constitute registration for the meeting. Abstract presenters must register to attend the meeting by using the form in this publication or by registering online through the APIII website.Online Abstract Submission System
Authors interested in submitting their work for consideration by the review panel should submit a 350 word abstract following the guidelines provided Authors must submit via the internet using the APIII Online Submission System beginning January 4, 2007.Note Regarding Internet Browsers: To optimize the performance of the Online Abstract Submission System, authors are strongly encouraged to upgrade their Internet browser to Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher or Netscape version 6.0 or higher. 2. All fields of the submission form must be completed. Abstracts with incomplete submission forms will not be considered.
3. All abstracts should include the following information for publication: · Authors: Complete first name, last name and degree/s for all authors. · Affiliations: Full name, department, affiliation, city and state for each author.
4. Do not use all capital letters when entering the abstract title.
5. The combined length of the abstract title, body, tables and illustrations may be a maximum of 400 words. Additionally, it must be organized under (and contain) all of the following headings · Content · Technology · Design · Results · Conclusions
6. Text must be prepared in accordance with the American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style.
Abstract Text
Abbreviations may be used in the body of the abstract if they are defined at their first mention in the text. Complex therapeutic regimens must be identified. Please do not include titles or authors in the body of the abstract. You may submit the body of your abstract by uploading a word processing file to the online submission form.
7. Do not use abbreviations unless they appear five or more times, in which case you must spell out the abbreviation the first time it appears.
8. Do not begin the abstract by repeating the title, and do not cite references.
9. A single table or figure may be used for results, but only if created in Word or Excel. And it must conform to the publication parameters below:
- A table within a figure must be set at 12-point or larger.
10. List sources (name of company, city, state, and country) for all software and reagents.
11. Use conventional units of measure.
12. Use generic drug names unless the specific trade name of a drug is directly relevant to the discussion.
13. We do not offer an opportunity to make changes to your abstract after submission
14. A copyright form signed by all authors. All authors must complete the disclosure section of the copyright form. The copyright form must be faxed to 412-623-2814 (attn: Wendy Frank) for each abstract submission.
Submission of Abstracts/Confirmation of Receipt
At the time of submission, a confirmation of receipt will be e-mailed to the corresponding author at the address provided in the Online Abstract Submission System.
Note: The e-mailed confirmation of receipt is not a notice of acceptance of the abstract for Scientific Session Presentation or Poster Presentation at the APIII meeting.
Accuracy of Abstracts
The accuracy of the submitted abstract is the responsibility of the authors. Although abstracts will be typeset for print and electronic distribution, they will not be edited or corrected by the APIII staff except as needed to conform to publication style. Therefore, authors should prepare and proofread their abstracts carefully prior to submission. Please make sure your abstract is correct and complete. Please be sure to list all authors, degree, affiliation, department, city, state and country.
APIII will not be responsible for the acceptance and processing of revised abstracts that are not submitted in compliance with the above regulations.
Keywords for Indexing
Please select keywords that can be used to reference your abstract. These keywords will be used to create the subject index for the online versions of the Proceedings. Please remember to include the keywords for indexing.
Category
You must select a single category from the menu provided in the Online Abstract Submission System. This designation will serve as a guide to the Program committee in assigned reviewers and grouping abstracts but will not necessarily be the actual titles of scientific sessions.
